Alternative work schedule (9/80's Monday - Thursday 9 hour shift & Friday 8 hour shift, with every other Friday off over the course of two weeks.)
OVERVIEW:
To perform troubleshooting and repair tasks on all types and styles of air conditioning units and related devices and systems in a competent and timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school education or equivalent
- Valid Arizona driver’s license
- Minimum five years experience in refrigeration field with appropriate trade related schooling
- Certificate of successful completion of EPA approved course in ‘Proper Refrigerant Usage’
- Knowledge of all styles of air distribution systems and types of package and split system DX air conditioning units
- Knowledge of reciprocating compressor style chillers and all styles of control systems; knowledge of centrifugal compressor style chillers preferred
- Ability to fulfill trade related duties using safe working practices of the trade
- Ability to interpret, to understand and to work from plans, schematics and blueprints
- Ability to organize and to prioritize workload; to work alone with minimal supervision; have initiative and be a self-starter
- Ability to lift and/or to move 100 pounds; to work from ladders and lifts up to 40 feet
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) and to establish and to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
- Ability to work overtime and to change schedules with minimal notice; willingness to work non-regular hours (weekends, night shift, swing shift, holidays)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working from a written work order, travel throughout assigned area of the district to perform troubleshooting and repair tasks on all types and styles of air conditioning unites and related devices and systems in a competent and timely manner
- Keep site based personnel properly informed of system status
- Interface with immediate supervisor(s) on a routine basis to keep them apprised of work order status
- Regular and on-time attendance required
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Keep service vehicle clean, orderly and properly stocked with parts and supplies
- Process work orders and paperwork appropriately and in a timely manner
- Assist in keeping HVAC shop clean
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
