OVERVIEW
To maintain the daily operations of the Work Request Distribution Center to ensure distribution of information in an accurate and timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School education or equivalent
- Moderate proficiency in typing, with good accuracy; above average test battery
- Office experience and ability to operate general office equipment
- Knowledge of facility maintenance organizations including materials, parts and equipment helpful
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
- Ability to route and schedule maintenance personnel according to priority of need, efficiency and work location; to make decisions without close supervision
- Ability to function in an office setting utilizing judgment in critical situations with accuracy and tact
- Ability and willingness to operate two-way radio equipment with clear voice presence for radio and telephone communication
- Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines with minimum supervision; and to work under pressure with constant interruptions
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to establish and to maintain effective and cooperative working relationships
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain daily operation of the Work Request Distribution Center to ensure distribution of information in an accurate and timely manner
- Receive emergency work requests via telephone and input using computerized system
- Input work orders, received and completed in computerized system
- Determine what shop(s) should respond to emergency requests
- Dispatch craftsmen according to prioritized needs of requests
- Alter prior approved and scheduled work assignments when necessary
- Notify operations supervisors of district emergencies requiring their attention
- Act as point of contact for district personnel to advise and to provide assistance regarding the Operations Work Request Form
- Willingness to work various shifts as assigned including overtime when needed
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Regular and on-time attendance required
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Receive and screen messages for Operations Directors
- Monitor work requests and calculate and record labor and material costs for Preventive Maintenance Program, vandalism and storm damage reports
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
