OVERVIEW
To perform a variety of clerical tasks following standardized procedures for high school Special Education department in support of their positions; and to contribute to the efficient operation of the work unit.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School education or equivalent
- Moderate proficiency in typing with good accuracy
- Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc)
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and work with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision
- Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with students, parents, district personnel of all levels and general public; to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, parents and district personnel of all levels
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a variety of clerical tasks (e.g. typing, filing, copying, scheduling, Special Education recordkeeping, etc) following standardized procedures in support of assigned personnel
- Prepare and process a variety of documents and materials, following established guidelines, to disseminate information to appropriate parties
- Maintain a variety of files and/or records, following established guidelines, to ensure the accurate retrieval of Special Education data for reporting purposes
- Organize testing materials; create and modify schedules pertinent to the site’s Special Education program; organize and prepare materials in support of Special Education tutoring and/or summer school program
- Regular and on-time attendance required
- Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
- Assist other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
